VACUUM TUBE

The low-pressure steel tube reduces air resistance to near zero, allowing the pod to travel at jet-speed without the drag of conventional atmosphere. Operating at 1/1000th of sea-level pressure.

→
02 / Propulsion

LINEAR MOTOR

Electromagnetic linear induction motors accelerate and decelerate the pod with precise control. The rotor is embedded in the pod base while the stator lines the tube track below.

→
03 / Energy

REGENERATIVE BRAKING

Kinetic energy is harvested during deceleration and fed back to the grid. Solar panels along the tube infrastructure generate more power than the system consumes, making it energy positive.

EMERGENCY SYSTEMS

Redundant braking mechanisms and sealed emergency egress hatches activate autonomously. Real-time sensor networks monitor structural integrity at 10,000 data points per second.

05 / Levitation

MAGLEV SKIS

Passive magnetic levitation skis on the pod undercarriage glide frictionlessly above the track. No moving parts means near-zero maintenance and silent operation at 1200 km/h.

06 / Comfort

PASSENGER CABIN

Pressurised aluminium shell with active vibration cancellation. Panoramic OLED windows simulate external views. Interior climate independently managed. Journey from LA to San Francisco in 35 minutes.

←
07 / Airflow

COMPRESSOR FAN

A front-mounted axial compressor ingests the small amount of remaining air and routes it to maintain cabin pressure and provide additional aero lift beneath the pod — the Kantrowitz limit solution.

STEEL TUBE SHELL

A 2.2m inner diameter welded steel tube sealed with expansion joints accommodates thermal variation. Elevated above the terrain on pre-stressed concrete pylons spaced 30m apart.
